“The Training for Trainers on How to Use the Lao PDR Trade Portal” was organized on 26-28 October 2016, at Long Ngum View Resort, Vientiane Province by Department of Import and Export as an office of Trade Facilitation Secretariat. The training was financed by the Second Trade Development Facility Project (TDF2) and was chaired by Mrs. Banesaty Thephavong, Director General of Department of Import and Export, Deputy Head of Trade Facilitation Secretariat, Ministry of Industry and Commerce. There were 47 Lao PDR Trade Portal’s focal points participated to the training.
The objective of this training was to raise awareness and understanding on how to use the Lao PDR Trade Portal (LTP) for effective management of import and export authorities, and to ease business operation for entrepreneurs. After LTP’s official launch in June 2012, seven similar meetings have been organized for public and private sector nationwide.
Mrs. Banesaty Thephavong stated: “this training is exclusive because we aim to enhance training skills to the focal points who will disseminate LTP usage. It means that we will broaden and advise the use of LTP to entrepreneur to facilitate their business operation”.
The training comprises of modules that focus on how to search data on LTP and presenting special characteristic of LTP in handbook. Participants were highly paid attention to the training by raising questions to the presenters and practiced their presentation skills on how to use LTP before they train it to public and private sector. At the end of the training, evaluation of the presentation and certificate were provided to the participants.
