The imports and exports of Lao PDR in November 2020 achieved US$ 869 million, including US$ 436 million of export and approximately US$ 434 million of import, therefore, the trade surplus was US$ 2 million.
The main export category
The total exports were approximately US$ 436 million. The value exports included US$ 40 million of copper ore, US$ 18 million of banana, US$ 12 million of wood pulp and paper scraps, US$ 16 million of frame and camera parts, US$ 59 million of mix gold and gold bars, US$ 14 million of clothes, US$ 5 million of raw coffee, US$ 32 million of robber, US$ 7 million of cigarette and US$ 10 million of corn.
The main import category
The total imports were approximately US$ 434 million. The value imports included US$ 31 million of vehicles (other than motorcycles, tractors), US$ 11 million of electric devices and equipment, US$ 27 million of diesel, US$ 28 million of mechanical equipment (other than motor vehicles), US$ 18 million of steel, steel products, magnetic steel, US$ 18 million of auto parts (including tires, glass, chains ...), US$ 8 million of gasoline and premium gasoline, US$ 12 million of rebar and various types of steel, US$ 13 million of plastic products and US$ 7 million of waste food industries.
The five main exporting countries of Lao PDR
The main exporting countries of Lao PDR included China US$ 161 million, Vietnam US$ 70 million, Thailand US$ 108 million, India US$ 25 million and Germany US$ 8 million.
The five main importing countries of the Lao PDR
The main importing countries of Laos included: Thailand US$ 209 million, China US$ 100 million, Vietnam US$ 46 million, Japan US$ 10 million and USA US$ 5 million.
The November 2020 statistic does not include the value of export electric power, therefore, we will update later when it is available.
