The Lao foreign trade in November 2024 was valued at USD 1,428 million.

The value of import and export (excluding electricity) of Lao PDR in November 2024 reached USD 1,428.

The main export category
The total export value was approximately USD 610 million, increased by 3% compared to October. The main value exports included: USD 85 million in mixed gold and bullion, USD 72 million in electrical appliances and equipment, USD 62 million in rubber, USD 52 million in potassium salt, USD 36 million in paper and paper products, USD 28 million in old ore, USD 24 million in wood pulp and paper waste, USD 23 million in clothing and USD 6 million in starch.

The main import category
The total import value was approximately USD 818 million, increased by 29% compared to October. The main value imports included: USD 162 million in mechanical equipment (excluding vehicle mechanics), USD 91 million in diesel fuel, USD 59 million in land vehicles (except motorcycles, and tractors), USD 43 million in finished mixed chemical products, USD 32 million in iron and steel products, USD 25 million in plastic appliances, USD 24 million in electrical and electronic equipment, USD 22 million in pulp and paper, USD 22 million in beverages (water, soft drinks, booster...) and USD 16 million in gasoline.

The five main exporting countries of Lao PDR
China (USD 201 million), Vietnam (USD 159 million), Thailand (USD 91 million), Australia (USD 43 million) and USA (USD 35 million).

The five main importing countries of the Lao PDR
Thailand (USD 312 million), China (USD 266 million), Vietnam (USD 97 million), USA (USD 18 million), and Japan (USD 16 million).
