Value of the PDR's imports and exports in January 2025 is approximately 1,356 million.
The main export category
The total export value is approximately USD 650 million. The main value export included USD 106 million in electrical appliances, USD 79 million in mixed gold and gold bar, USD 78 million in cassava, USD 37 million in potassium salt, USD 34 million in papers, USD 32 million in rubber, USD 28 million in gold ore, USD 23 million in cassava starch, USD 22 million in wood pulp and paper scraps, and USD 21 million in clothing.
The main import category
The total import value is approximately US$ 706 million. The main value import included USD 95 million in diesel, USD 60 million in land vehicles (except motorcycles and tractors), USD 58 million in mechanical equipment (other than vehicle mechanics), USD 44 million in chemical products, USD 27 million in fertilizers, USD 25 million in electrical appliances, USD 21 million in steel and magnetic steel, USD 20 million in sugar, USD 9 million in clothing, and USD 8 million in farm tractors.

In January 2025, Thailand (USD 184 million), China (USD 171 million), Vietnam (USD 159 million), Australia (USD 40 million), and USA (USD 28 million) were the top exporters of Laos

While, Thailand (USD 315 million), China (USD 232 million), Vietnam (USD 76 million), Japan (USD 16 million), and the United States (USD 15 million) were Laos' top importers.
