Previously, Lao PDR had applied the Phytosanitary Certificate-PC in accordance with a data base for the issue of the national phytosanitary certificate since 2004 in order to ensure and contribute to prevention measures for the spread of pests from Lao PDR to other countries and from abroad getting into Lao PDR. In order to increase and improve compliance with the law and regulations on International Plant Protection, the issue of the new Phytosanitary Certificate will be applied uniformly throughout country. The new Phytosanitary Certificate uses one stamp and is applied harmoniously throughout the country. This new Phytosanitary Certificate-PC will come into effect from 18 April 2013 onward.
