The Department of Import and Export of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has unveiled Lao PDR's Trade Facilitation Strategy for 2011-15.
The Government of Lao PDR is commited to trade facilitation as a means of promoting economic development, reducing poverty and achieving the objective of lifting the country out of the list of Least Developed nations by 2020.
The Government has tasked the Ministry of Industry and Commerce with increasing exports by taking the lead in collaborating with concerned sectors to improve trade-related legislation, increase transparency and streamline import/export procedures.
The strategy for achieving these objectives is outlined in the Trade Facilitation Strategic Plan for Lao PDR (2011-2015). Click on the link to view or download this document.
