The Lao PDR TBT Enquiry Point has been established, under Decree No. 363/PM, in the Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Metrology. 

The Lao TBT Enquiry Point has been established to provide:

• Assistance in answering domestic and foreign enquires concerning standards, technical regulations, and conformity assessment procedures that apply to products sold in Lao PDR and technical requirements for products exported to other WTO member countries

• Information about Lao’s membership and participation in international and regional standardizing bodies and conformity assessment systems

• Lao’s bilateral and multilateral arrangements related to the TBT Agreement

• The Lao WTO/TBT Enquiry Point regularly conducts seminars and workshops on the benefits of utilizing international standards and conformity assessment procedures- contact us for schedule of events.

• A source for obtaining Lao National Standards and international standards.
