The meeting was organized on 19-23 March 2014 at Ministry of Industry and Commerce, joining by participants from SDZ. The meeting took 05 days, chaired by Mrs. Latthana Douangboupha, Deputy Director General of Department of Import and Export. The objective of this meeting is to enhance knowledge of SDZ’s employees who are responsible for CO and to give a better understanding of theories and practices for self-certifying rules of origin in the future. The meeting gave detail explanations on the issuance of rules of origin by issuing on paper and issuing via an electronic system.
Mrs. Latthana Douangboupha highly appreciated the workshop with the aim of preparing self-certifying rules of origin is outstanding for facilitating entrepreneurs or investors in SDZ in order to reduce procedure for import and export document, time and cost. According to estimation and assessment of the Department of Import and Export, SDZ will be able to issue self-certifying rules of origin in May.
In addition, the Department of Import and Export is going to organize the workshop in order to ensure the accuracy and avoid the errors for certifying rules of origin.
