For a foreign company (investor) who imports capital into Lao PDR via the bank is required to complete a certificate of capital importation. Documents required to issue a certificate of capital importation is as follows:

1. Application issued by the BOL
2. Copy of enterprise registration certificate
3. Copy of concession registration certificate issued by Ministry of Planning and Investment (in case of concession).
4. Copy of tax payment certificate
5. Copy of certificate of capital importation (previous year) issued by the BOL.
6. (A) In the case of capital importation through a banking transaction, a company/investor shall attach the documents from the bank is as follows:
- AVIS CREDIT  NOTE ຫຼື SWIFT MESSAGE;
- STATEMENT;

• In the case of capital importation as Loan, a company/investor shall attach the documents from the BOL is as follows: 
- Copy of Loan license issued by Monetary Policy Department, the BOL

(B) In the case of capital importation as equipment, a company/investor shall attach the documents below:
- Copy of goods importation license;
- Invoice;
- 1 set a copy of the declaration of import goods (IM4) or  ACDD (Customs Declaration).

(C) In the case of capital importation as cash without going through a banking transaction, a company/investor shall attach the documents is as follows:
- Declaration of cash certificate from customs authorities at border checkpoint;
- Deposit account statement related to cash importation opened with a commercial bank operating in the Lao PDR.

7. Table with a detail of capital importation into Lao PDR, the value of capital importation in accordance with the bank statement (in case of several capital importations).

In the case that a foreign company (investor) who wants to transfer approved profit, dividend, capital and interest received from their business operation to the home country or the third country shall apply to a commercial bank with a certificate of capital importation. Without a certificate of capital importation, he/she is not able to transfer money.

Approximately 05 official days for issuance of a certificate of capital importation and fee is 15.000 Kip.
