Subject: Notification on inspection quality of electricity for import, distribute and produce in Lao PDR.
- According to the Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology’s report at the meeting of the Prime Minister - Deputy Prime Minister on 06-07 August 2019.
- -According to an agreement and guidance of the meeting of the Prime Minister - Deputy Prime Minister on 06-07 August 2019.
The Prime Minister’s Office honored to announce an agreement and guidance of the Prime Minister-Deputy Prime Minister's Meeting that the Government issued Notification No. 1441/PMO.DGA and No. 2022/PMO.DL, in order to allow the Ministry of Science and Technology can implement, a pilot practice for an inspection of electrical appliances and electronics quality at the Thanaleng Warehouse, the International Friendship Bridge 1. In fact, the pilot created more issues for importers. Therefore, the Prime Minister-Deputy Prime Minister's Meeting has an agreement to solve these issues as following details:
1. The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) shall terminate temporary the quality inspection of electronic appliances at the Thanaleng Warehouse, the International Friendship Bridge 1. Thus, MOST must inspect the quality of the goods at a destination (dealers and stores agencies), without any additional service fees. As a result of that, the MOST has to prepare the State Budget in implementing inspection which will be based on the State’s financial availability and a collection income when there was an offensive fine of importers, in order to do regular inspections.
2. Mr. Sonsay Siphandone, Deputy Prime Minister will lead the discussion for review the inspection procedures with the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Ministry of Science and Technology, Analysts Committee of the National Economic Research Institute (for supporting the Prime Minister) and other relevant sectors. The discussion will consider how to inspect import goods, how to inspect at the destination, how to determine a fine per offensiveness and other relevant issues in order to certainty and uniform. When the discussion is complete, it should be considered at the Government Meeting.
Please be informed and implemented accordingly to this notification.
