The imports and exports of Lao PDR in July 2020 achieved US$ 792 million, including US$ 372 million of export and approximately US$ 419 million of import, therefore, the trade deficit was US$ 47 million.
The main export category
The total exports were approximately US$ 372 million. The value exports included US$ 41 million copper ore, US$ 17 million copper products, US$ 19 million banana, US$ 23 million wood pulp and paper scraps, US$ 11 million frame and camera parts, US$ 17 million beverages (water, carbonated water, energy drinks ...), US$ 63 million mix gold, gold bars, US$ 19 million clothes, US$ 7 million electric devices and equipment and US$ 13 million robber.
The main import category
The total imports were approximately US$ 419 million. The value imports included US$ 18 million of vehicles (other than motorcycles, tractors), US$ 12 million electric devices and equipment, US$ 30 million diesel, US$ 40 million mechanical equipment (other than motor vehicles), US$ 32 million iron, steel products, magnetic steel, US$ 16 million beverages (water, carbonated water, and energy drinks...), US$ 18 million auto parts (including tires, glass, chains ...), US$ 10 million line steel and various types of steel, US$ 25 million electricity power and US$ 13 million plastic products.
The five main exporting countries of Lao PDR
The main exporting countries of Lao PDR included China US$ 123 million, Vietnam US$ 90 million, Thailand US$ 86 million, India US$ 9 million and Japan US$ 7 million.
The five main importing countries of the Lao PDR
The main importing countries of Laos included: Thailand US$ 253 million, China US$ 91 million, Vietnam US$ 44 million, Japan US$ 7 million and United State US$ 5 million.
The July 2020 statistic does not include the value of export electric power, therefore, we will update later when it is available.
