The imports and exports of Lao PDR in August 2020 achieved US$ 762 million, including US$ 377 million of export and approximately US$ 384 million of import, therefore, the trade deficit was US$ 7 million.
The main export category
The total exports were approximately US$ 377 million. The value exports included US$ 30 million copper ore, US$ 15 million copper and copper products, US$ 16 million banana, US$ 28 million wood pulp and paper scraps, US$ 21 million frame and camera parts, US$ 97 million mix gold and gold bars, US$ 18 million clothes, US$ 9 million electric devices and equipment, US$ 5 million coffee and US$ 24 million robber.
The main import category
The total imports were approximately US$ 384 million. The value imports included US$ 24 million of vehicles (other than motorcycles, tractors), US$ 21 million electric devices and equipment, US$ 25 million diesel, US$ 43 million mechanical equipment (other than motor vehicles), US$ 22 million iron, steel products, magnetic steel, US$ 9 million auto parts (including tires, glass, chains ...), US$ 13 million plastic products, US$ 6 million gasoline, US$ 7 million fertilizers, and US$ 8 million industry food waste.
The five main exporting countries of Lao PDR
The main exporting countries of Lao PDR included China US$ 102 million, Vietnam US$ 75 million, Thailand US$ 120 million, India US$ 14 million and Germany US$ 6 million.
The five main importing countries of the Lao PDR
The main importing countries of Laos included: Thailand US$ 204 million, China US$ 84 million, Vietnam US$ 44 million, Japan US$ 21 million and United State US$ 10 million.
The August 2020 statistic does not include the value of export electric power, therefore, we will update later when it is available.
