The imports and exports of Lao PDR in September 2020 achieved US$ 760 million, including US$ 354 million of export and approximately US$ 405 million of import, therefore, the trade deficit was US$ 50 million.
The main export category
The total exports were approximately US$ 377 million. The value exports included US$ 33 million of copper ore, US$ 4 million of copper and copper products, US$ 22 million of banana, US$ 25 million of wood pulp and paper scraps, US$ 16 million of frame and camera parts, US$ 49 million of mix gold and gold bars, US$ 17 million of clothes, US$ 12 million of electric devices and equipment, US$ 39 million of robber and US$ 3 million of corn.
The main import category
The total imports were approximately US$ 405 million. The value imports included US$ 29 million of vehicles (other than motorcycles, tractors), US$ 16 million of electric devices and equipment, US$ 23 million of diesel, US$ 29 million of mechanical equipment (other than motor vehicles), US$ 23 million of steel (steel products, magnetic steel), US$ 17 million of auto parts (including tires, glass, chains ...), US$ 7 million of gasoline and premium gasoline, US$ 10 million of rebar and various types of steel, US$ 13 million of plastic products and US$ 7 million of fertilizers.
The five main exporting countries of Lao PDR
The main exporting countries of Lao PDR included China US$ 142 million, Vietnam US$ 74 million, Thailand US$ 63 million, India US$ 12 million and Japan US$ 9 million.
The five main importing countries of the Lao PDR
The main importing countries of Laos included: Thailand US$ 215 million, China US$ 95 million, Vietnam US$ 59 million, Japan US$ 8 million and India US$ 4 million.
The September 2020 statistic does not include the value of export electric power, therefore, we will update later when it is available.
