The imports and exports of Lao PDR in October 2020 achieved US$ 729 million, including US$ 347 million of export and approximately US$ 382 million of import, therefore, the trade deficit was US$ 34 million.
The main export category
The total exports were approximately US$ 347 million. The value exports included US$ 30 million of copper ore, US$ 23 million of banana, US$ 25 million of wood pulp and paper scraps, US$ 19 million of frame and camera parts, US$ 54 million of mix gold and gold bars, US$ 16 million of clothes, US$ 9 million of electric devices and equipment, US$ 5 million of sugar, US$ 34 million of robber and US$ 8 million of corn.
The main import category
The total imports were approximately US$ 382 million. The value imports included US$ 30 million of vehicles (other than motorcycles, tra ctors), US$ 20 million of electric devices and equipment, US$ 23 million of diesel, US$ 24 million of mechanical equipment (other than motor vehicles), US$ 16 million of steel, steel products, magnetic steel, US$ 13 million of auto parts (including tires, glass, chains ...), US$ 7 million of gasoline and premium gasoline, US$ 10 million of rebar and various types of steel, US$ 12 million of plastic products and US$ 8 million of waste food industries.
The five main exporting countries of Lao PDR
The main exporting countries of Lao PDR included China US$ 128 million, Vietnam US$ 63 million, Thailand US$ 79 million, India US$ 12 million and Germany US$ 7 million.
The five main importing countries of the Lao PDR
The main importing countries of Laos included: Thailand US$ 209 million, China US$ 92 million, Vietnam US$ 45 million, Japan US$ 8 million and USA US$ 4 million.
The October 2020 statistic does not include the value of export electric power, therefore, we will update later when it is available.
