The value of Lao PDR import and export in February 2021 has reached US$ 849 million. Of that, the value of export was approximately US$ 446 million, the value of import was about US$ 404 million, and the trade deficit was US$ 42 million.
The main export product category
The main export products had the average total amount of approximately US$ 482 million. The highest value of export products out of these product category included copper ore with the value of about US$ 35 million, copper and copper products valued at US$ 4 million, banana worth US$ 23 million, frame (camera parts) valued at US$ 14 million, mix gold (gold bars) valued at US$ 40 million, cassava with US$ 67 million, clothes valued at US$ 17 million, coffee (unprocessed) with US$ 7 million, rubber with US$ 8 million, and fruits (water melon, passion fruit, tamarind) worth US$ 9 million.
The main import product category
The main import product had the average total amount of approximately US$ 404 million. The highest value of import products out of these product category included land vehicles worth US$ 39 million (apart from motorcycles, tractors); diesel valued at US$ 33 million; mechanical equipment (besides motor vehicles) worth US$ 23 million; steel, steel products and magnetic steel valued at US$ 20 million; auto parts (including tires, glass, chains) with US$ 12 million; gasoline/premium gasoline valued at US$ 9 million; plastic product worth US$ 14 million; sugar valued at US$ 8 million; chemical products worth US$ 7 million; and fiber waste and wastes from food industry worth US$ 8 million.
The five main exporting countries of Lao PDR
The main exporting countries of Lao PDR included China with US$ 151 million, Vietnam US$ 99 million, Thailand US$ 106 million, India US$ 8 million and Japan US$ 8 million.
The five main importing countries of the Lao PDR
The main importing countries of Laos included Thailand with US$ 243 million, China US$ 78 million, Vietnam US$ 37 million, Japan US$ 9 million and USA US$ 10 million.
The value of Lao PDR import and export in February 2021 has not covered the value of export electric power. Therefore, we will publish this information later after we collect all relevant statistic.
