The imports and exports of Lao PDR in April 2021 achieved US$ 918 million, including US$ 472 million of export and approximately US$ 491 million of import, therefore, the Trade deficit was US$ 64 million.
The main export category
The total exports were approximately US$ 472 million. The main value exports included US$ 24 million of copper ore, US$ 22 million of banana, US$ 74 million of mix gold (gold bars), US$ 18 million of cassava, US$ 15 million of clothes, US$ 9 million of raw coffee, US$ 4 million of sugar, US$ 6 million of robber, US$ 9 million of fruits (water melon, passion fruits and tamarind) and US$ 4 million of sawn wood.
The main import category
The total imports were approximately US$ 491 million. The main value imports included US$ 39 millions of vehicles (other than motorcycles, tractors), US$ 21 millions of electric devices and equipment, US$ 38 millions of diesel, US$ 61 millions of mechanic equipment (other than motor vehicles), US$ 22 millions of steel, steel products, magnetic steel, US$ 22 millions of beverage (water, soda, energy ...), US$ 18 millions of auto parts (including tires, glass, chains ...), US$ 15 millions of gasoline and premium gasoline, US$ 20 millions of wood pulp and waste paper and US$ 26 millions of gemstones..

The main exporting countries of Lao PDR included China US$ 192 million, Vietnam US$ 76 million, Thailand US$ 64 million, Switzerland US$ 15 million and Germany US$ 6 million.

The main importing countries of Laos included: Thailand US$ 233 million, China US$ 108 million, Vietnam US$ 40 million, Japan US$ 15 million and USA US$ 26 million.
The April 2021 statistic does not include the value of export electric power, therefore, we will update later when it is available.
