Lao PDR's values on Q1 of 2021 were exported approximately US$ 1,600 million and imported US$ 1,500 million and the trade surplus US$ 100 million. There were more than 19 import and export trading partners, of which three are major trading partners such as Thailand, China and Vietnam.
The main export products (US Dollar)
The highest export value of the first quarter in 2021 was approximately US$ 175 million of cassava, US$ 124 of gold ore and US$ 268 of mixed gold and gold bars.
The main import products (US Dollar)
The highest import value of the first quarter in 2021 was approximately US$ 121 million of land vehicles (excluding motorcycles, tractors), US$ 119 of diesel and US$ 98 of mechanical equipment (other than motor vehicles).
The three countries bordering that were the main export of Lao PDR at the Q1
There was Thailand with the approximate values of US$ 296 million, US$ 657 million of China and US$ 337 million of Vietnam. Additionally, cassava exported to Thailand was worth approximately US$ 150 million, cattle exported to Vietnam were US$ 73 million and gold ore to China were worth US$ 124 million.
The three countries bordering that were the main import of Lao PDR at the Q1
There was Thailand with the approximate value of US$ 795 million, US$ 309 million of China and US$ 143 million of Vietnam. Additionally, diesel imported from Thailand was approximate US$ 112 million, steel and steel products, steel imported from China were worth approximately US $ 39 million and US$14 million of steel and steel products from Vietnam.
