The imports and exports of Lao PDR in October 2021 values US$ 819 million, including US$ 387 million of export and approximately US$ 432 million of import, therefore, the trade deficit was approximately US$ 46 million.
The main export category
The total exports were approximately US$ 387 million. The main value exports included US$ 22 million of copper ore, US$ 4 million of copper and copper product, US$ 7 million of banana, US$ 119 million of mix gold (gold bars), US$ 9 million of clothes, US$ 3 million of coffee, US$ 29 million of rubber, US$ 4 million of cigarette, US$ 1 million of corn and US$ 1 million of sawn wood, semi-finished and finished wood.
The main import category
The total imports were approximately US$ 432 million. The main value imports included US$ 36 millions of vehicles (other than motorcycles, tractors), US$ 7 millions of electric parts and equipment, US$ 28 millions of diesel, US$ 23 millions of mechanical equipment (other than motor vehicles), US$ 25 millions of vehicle parts (wheels, mirrors, chains), US$ 11 millions of gasoline and premium gasoline, US$ 10 millions of plastic products, US$ 65 millions of gems or semi-precious stones, US$ 4 millions of fertilizers and US$ 20 millions of wood pulp and waste paper.

The main exporting countries of Lao PDR included China US$ 149 million, Vietnam US$ 96 million, Thailand US$ 35 million, India US$ 14 million and Germany US$ 4 million.
The five main importing countries of the Lao PDR
The main importing countries of Laos included: Thailand US$ 188 million, China US$ 84 million, Vietnam US$ 25 million, Japan US$ 18 million and USA US$ 18 million.
The October 2021 statistic does not include the value of export electric power, therefore, we will update later when it is available.
