The imports and exports of Lao PDR in February 2022 were valued at US$ 989 million, including US$ 519 million in export and approximately US$ 471 million in imports, therefore, the trade surplus was US$ 48 million.

The total exports were approximately US$ 519 million. The main value exports included US$ 92 million in gold, gold bars, US$ 39 million in paper and paper products, US$ 24 million in copper ore, US$ 20 million in rubber, US$ 79 million in cassava, US$ 8 million in iron ore, US$ 26 million in banana, US$ 20 million in clothing, US$ 10 million in shoes and US$ 8 million in copper and copper items.
The main import category
The total imports were approximately US$ 471 million. The main value imports included US$ 33 million in inland vehicles (other than motorcycles, tractors), US$ 57 million in diesel, US$ 23 million in mechanical equipment (other than motor vehicles), US$ 42 million in precious or semi-precious stones, US$ 25 million in wood and paper scraps, US$ 15 million in auto parts (including tires, windshields, chains ...), US$ 13 million in plastic products, US$ 23 million in electronic equipment and electrical appliances, US$ 14 million in gasoline and premium gasoline and US$ 11 million in chemical products.
