The value of import and export of Lao PDR in July 2024 reached USD 1,220 million.
The main export category
The total export value was approximately USD 533 million, decreased by 2.5% compared to June 2024. The main value exports included: USD 62 million in mixed gold, USD 50 million in electric equipment, USD 47 million in salt, USD 40 million in rubber, USD 39 million in paper, USD 24 million in wasted wood, USD 16 million in sugar, USD 13 million in cassava flour, USD 12 million in ore copper and USD 7 million in cassava.
The main import category
The total import value was approximately USD 687 million, increased by 1% compared to June 2024. The main value imports included: USD 79 million in diesel, USD 75 million in Mechanical equipment, USD 67 million in finished chemical products, USD 48 million in land vehicles, USD 38 million in electrical appliances, USD 30 million in steel, USD 25 million in plastic products, USD 21 million in gasoline, USD 18 million in vehicle spare parts and USD 13 million beverage.

China (USD 296 million), Thailand (USD 242 million), Vietnam (USD 61 million), USA (USD 19 million), and Japan (USD 13 million).
