Luangprabang province, 26 February 2026. The Department of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, acting as the Secretariat Office of the National Trade and Transport Facilitation Committee, organized a dissemination meeting on the implementation of the Trade and Transport Facilitation Road Map 2025–2030 and its related documents for 9 northern provinces.

The meeting was co-chaired by Mr Mouavixay PALEE, Deputy Director General of the Department of Foreign Trade and Mr Vanhthone BOUDSAMPHANH Deputy Director of Industry and Commerce Department of Khmam maun Province, attended by representatives, and technical officials from both relevant local and central sectors.

Participants discussed the implementation framework of the Trade and Transport Facilitation Action Plan 2025–2030, including the development of detailed action plans, coordination and reporting mechanisms under Decision No. 001/NTTFC dated 9 January 2026, and the coordination mechanism for providing trade information through the Lao PDR Trade Portal in accordance with Decision No. 005/NTTFC, dated 11 September 2025.

 

New features of the Lao PDR Trade Portal, the use of the Trade Information Portal (TIP) application, and pilot creating agency admin accounts and uploading sectoral trade information into the LTP were also introduced and discussed.

In his remarks, the Co-chair Mr Mouavixay PALEE stated at the meeting that in accordance with the guidance of the Deputy Prime Minister, who also serves as the Head of the National Trade and Transport Facilitation Committee, delivered during the meetings of the National Trade and Transport Facilitation Committee from the first meeting (June 2023) to the third and most recent meeting (July 2025), as well as the Government’s directives following those meetings, numerous tasks have been assigned to ministries and local authorities for implementation. Among these tasks, provincial authorities were assigned to review and reduce unnecessary checkpoints along transport routes, in line with the relevant regulations.

The meeting was conducted over one full day and concluded on the same day.
