Morning of 26 May 2026, at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MOIC), the Department of Foreign Trade, acting as the Secretariat Office of the National Trade and Transport Facilitation Committee and also serving as the focal point of the Trade Promotion and Market Connectivity Working Group under the framework of the 13th Laos–Vietnam Border Trade Development Cooperation, organized a logistics business meeting together with the Import-Export Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The meeting aimed to exchange lessons learned and discuss trade connectivity, transportation, and logistics service cooperation between the two countries, as well as to implement the agreements and commitments jointly concluded between the Lao PDR and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The meeting was co-chaired by Mrs. Kingsadone Phetdaoheuang, Director General of the Department of Foreign Trade of the Lao PDR, and Mr. Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Director General of the Import-Export Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, together with representatives from relevant sectors, including both government agencies and logistics business entrepreneurs from the two countries.
During the meeting, participants received presentations on the Lao PDR Trade and Transport Facilitation Action Plan 2025–2030, key connectivity and linkage projects of the Lao PDR, an overview of Vietnam’s logistics service strategy, and the utilization of potential advantages and opportunities as well as strengthening cooperation in logistics service development between Lao and Vietnamese enterprises. Besides that, more exchanges of views and lesson learned among participants regard to logistics business operation in the Lao PDR also raised and discussed.
