In order to enhance ability to facilitate ASEAN Trade, aiming to build the ASEAN Trade Repository with fully content, complete, various and transparence. First of all, ASEAN members are require to have National Trade Repository.
Due to Lao PDR Trade Portal was designed for convenience and easy use, and searching trade information could be done by various ways which currently Lao Trade Portal is widely-known in both domestic and international. In addition, Lao Trade Portal is also a website development format that numbers of countries are interested in as a model of creating and developing their trade portal. Last year, the Laos’ MoIC also granted source code of Lao Trade Portal Website to the Kingdom of Lesotho (Lesotho is a country in Africa Continent) which its trade repository was officially launched on 26th March 2014.
On this visit, the Laos’s MoIC had signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on granting source code of Lao Trade Portal Website by Ms. Khemmani Pholsena, Lao PDR’s Minister of Industry and Commerce. And on this occasion, the Minister also remarked the appreciation on the collaboration in order to support and interexchange experiences of Least Developed Countries to enhance competition with other countries. Furthermore, the Minister also support both countries as well as the two Ministries to tighten the ongoing interchange of experiences.
