The technical training was organized to enhance skill and capacity building for regional government officers working on Non-Tariff Measures (NTMs) on assessment, analyze and learn on reporting the impact of NTMs on economics by the key speakers from World Bank. Meanwhile, it was an opportunity opening for interchange discussions for trade transparence especially for international trade.
The training was divided into 3 parts: theory, exercise, and discussion. The audience had a chance to learn on technics to collect information and scientific analyzing tools including World Integrated Trade Solutions Program (WITs) which is one of the programs from the World Bank using to collect import-export information of countries around the world. In addition, the floor was opened for private sectors to exchange information on the issues or convenient and challenges on the implementation on NTMs.
At the same time, the participants also had exercises prepared by Work Bank Experts for the comprehensive understanding on the issues. The last day of the training was opened for the participants from the ASEAN countries to report and comment on the implementation of NTM from their respective countries which mostly are under collecting information procedure in order to categorize measures. The training was organized in energetic and friendly atmosphere, which shown that the participants had expressed their concern of each training topics. To sum up, the training might be a step to link unity with regional countries especially the countries participated in this program.
