Due to currently plants and plant products trade between Lao PDR and Socialist Republic of Vietnam are undergoing according to the World Trade Organization principles, particularly phytosanitary measures in administrating international agricultural products, analyzing pest risks before issueing permission to import plants and plant products to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Therefore, it requires exporting country to deliver actual phytosanitary measures in all procession starting from plantation to exportation procedure.
In order to facilitate exporting Lao PDR Plant and Plant Products of Lao PDR to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in consistent with agreement and international agreement that Lao PDR is a party and Vietnam’s Phytosanitary measure. Minister of Agriculture and Forestry issued Notification on Pest Risk Analysis for Plants and Plant Productions before exporting to Vietnam, No. 0754/PD, dated 30 April 2015 according to Notification No. 30/2014/TT-BNNPTNT, dated 5/9/2014 of the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development of Vietnam.
