MoIC issues Decision on Shopping Center and Department Store No. 1950/MoIC. DDT, dated 22 September 2015 which specifies principles, provisions and measures on establishment, movement and management of Shopping Center and Department Store in order to administrate their operations in compliance with relevant laws and regulations. It is aiming to guarantee state, private and consumer’s interests and contribute to develop national socio-economic. The fundamental principles establishing Shopping Center and Department Store contains:

1.      Consistency with geography plan and socio-economic development plan;
2.      Guarantee sustainability and contribute to develop socio-economic;
3.      Guarantee construction standards, safety and reflect no negative affect to society and environment;
4.      Compose feasibility study on affects to society and environment in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

The Decision has been published on Lao Official Gazette on 28 September 2015 and it entered into force on 13 October 2015.
