Subject: The termination of tariff and tax exemption on import of fuel under Projects nationwide
- Pursuant to Law on Value added Tax No.04/NA, dated 26 December 2006
- Pursuant to Law on Investment Promotion. No.02/NA, dated 08 July 2009
- Pursuant to Law on Taxation (Revised) No.04/NA, dated 20 December 2011
- Pursuant to the Resolution of the National Assembly of the Lao PDR No 07/NA, dated 22 April 2016
- Pursuant to the Minutes of the meeting between Prime minister and Deputy prime minister, dated 1-2 August 2016
Prime Minister’s Office has the honor to inform you as follows:
1. Starting from August 2016 the Government will not allow the exemption on Tariff and Tax for the import of all types of fuel under projects nationwide.
2. As for any project that received the exemption in the past, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Energy and Mines, and relevant sectors shall carry out an inspection and re-negotiation with the companies to ensure that all parties strictly implement the rule of law.
3. Ministry of Industry and Commerce shall collaborate with relevant sectors to inspect companies that operate fuel business including the import-transit, and fuel filter factories nationwide. The outcomes and problems should be reported to the Government.
