“Currently, there are 8.626 business units with total registered capital of 3.039,3 billion kip where services is the most invested sector of 3.785 registered enterprises accounted for 1.220,9 billion kip of capital while export and import of goods in a past year is accounted for over 30 million dollars compared to the annual plan presenting for 85.83%, most of the exported goods are agricultural products and Non-Timer Forest Products (NTFPs). The value of imported goods is accounted for over 6 million US dollars compared to the annual presenting for 38.04% and 65.82% of decrease compared to the same period last year. Most of the goods imported are consumption goods and goods serving for production according to Mr. Valaxay Lengsavath, Head of Department of Industry and Commerce of Xayaboury province”
For 2018, Xayaboury province will be putting an effort in increasing the value of export to over 32 million dollars and stabilize the imported goods at $18 million dollars, this excludes the import for hydropower projects. Moreover, it also aims to promote factory owners and existing businesses in the province to meet the expected production value of 201.75 billion kip and sales value of 255,33 billion kip.
