In May 2018, the import-export value of the Lao PDR reached US$ 969.1 million, an increase of 11.5% compared to last month. The details are as follow:
Exports were US$ 449.1 million, increased by 11.9% compared to last month. Main export products are the value of electricity US$ 114.5 million, the value of copper and copper minerals US$ 104.5 million, value of parts of cameras US$ 24.6 million, value of electrical appliances US$ 19.3 million and value of clothes US$18.9 million. Main export countries are Thailand as US$ 217.4 million, China as US$ 108.2 million, Vietnam as US$ 66.4 million, Germany as US$8.1 million, and India as US$13.2 million.
Imports achieved US$ 520.1 million, increased by 11.2% compared to last month. Main import products are the value of Fuel (gasoline, diesel and jet fuel) US$ 63 million, the value of vehicles and spare parts US$ 61.7 million, the value of electrical appliances US$ 38.2 million, the value of mechanical equipment US$ 35.7 million, the value of steel and steel products US$ 24.3 million. Main import countries are Thailand as US$297 million, China as US$ 96.2 million, Vietnam as 69.1 million, Japan as US$ 8.7 million, Korea as US$ 8.8 million, Indonesia as US$ 7.4 million and Australia as US$ 5.6 million.
