The Prime Minister Office has notified of new measures for import and export during the outbreak of COVID-19 in order to be temporarily opened a few border checkpoints where is necessary and urgent matters for economic growth are. The details as follows:

1. Notification to opens the Panghai Traditional Checkpoint, Sing District, Luang Namtha Province for the Import-Export of Lao PDR and the operation of export sugarcane of Luang Namtha Province to China, No.1131/PM, dated 15 October 2020. The main contents as follows:

  • The Panghai Border Checkpoint at Luangnamtha Province is allowed to open ONLY a purpose of export and import, between 01 November 2020 until 30 June 20121, under the policies of COVID-19 preventing measures.
  • Ying Mau Company is allowed to import 148 labors for their business in export-import sugarcanes (who are 17 Project Officers and 131 Drivers) that must be only Panghai Border Checkpoint, Sing District, Luangnamtha Province with details of logistic plans.

 

2. Notification on the temporary open the Thasaad Checkpoint for Nam Theun 1 Company Limited in order to import the most necessary and urgent materials for the construction of hydropower project of the company, at Pakkading District, Bolikhamxay, No.1107/PM, Dated 14 October, dated 14 October. The main contents as follows:

  • Thasaat Traditional Checkpoint, Pakkading District, Bolikhamxay Province is allowed to open ONLY a purpose to import the most urgent and necessary materials of Nam Theun 1 Power Company Limited which are specific 4 Invoices with total storage capacity of 134 tons -191.60 tons per. The Invoices are: INV-NT1-HIN-110, INV-NT1-HIN-111, INV-NT1-HAV-034a and INV-NT1-HAV-034b. The checkpoint must be closed after the import is done.

 

3. Notification on the approval for export Barite ores at the BanVang Traditional Checkpoint, Muean District, Vientiane Province, by the Phet Thong Kham Mining Company Limited, No.1071/PM, dated 05 October 2020. The main contents as follows:

  • The Banvang Traditional Checkpoint is allowed to open for ONLY export Barite ores of the PhetThongKham Mining Company Limited, by ensuring that there is not hidden purpose.

 

4. Notification on the approval for export Barite ores the NongMa Traditional Checkpoint, Bualapha District, Khammouane Province, by the Barite Quang Trung Lao Sole Co., LTD), No.1064/PM, dated 02 October 2020. The main contents as follows:

  • The NongMa Traditional Checkpoint is allowed to open for ONLY export Barite ores of the Quang Trung Lao Sole Co., LTD, by ensuring that there is not hidden purpose.
