On 24-25 November 2020 at Pakse City, Champasak province. The Department of Import and Export (DIMEX), Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MOIC), organized a training for “the Use of Electronic Origin Certification (e-CO), Self-Certification and e-Form D”. Mr. Vilaysone Keolasy, Deputy Head of the Champasak Industry and Commerce Division with relevant public departments and private sectors.
The purpose of the training is to promote the use of certificates of origin to be concise and up-to-date with the technology. Therefore, the DIMEX organized a training for capacity building in the use of electronic certification system (e-CO), self-certification and self-promotion for e-Form D in Champasak province. After complete the training, the actual implementation of using e-Co will be started on 01 December 2020 onwards. In addition, this was an opportunity to inform the implementation for the Certificate of Origin and the issuance of Certificate of Origin under the ASEAN Electronic Trade Agreement and e-Form D after complete this training.
The training was divided into two session which was for public and private procedures. The public sector was trained on the procedure of the e-CO system (starting from authority, the first approval authority and giving signature process) and printing the form through the system. The private sector learns how to register for the e-CO system, how to access the system, how to fill in each form, upload information on requesting forms, and track the activity of the forms you submit to the system.
The implementation after completing training that will be more convenient by saving time and cost for entrepreneurs when doing import and export. This e-CO system will become the most secure system and data, detail oriented and be simple for inspection by authority officers at any time.
