Subject: A notification to respond to the Lao Cassava Association’s letter for permission to enter neighboring countries’ trucks of cassava into Lao PDR.
- Pursuant to the Decree on the Organization and Operation of the Office of the Prime Minister’s Office No.93/PM, on 03 March 2017.
- Pursuant to the letter of Lao Cassava Association No.144/LCA, on 12 February 2021.
- Pursuant to the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Ministry of Finance, Head of the National Operation for COVID-19 on 5 March 2021.
The Prime Minister’s Office is honored to announce the direction of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Ministry of Finance, Head of the National Operation for COVID-19 as details as following:
- The current situation of COVID-19 is still at high risk to be spread at any time. In regard to the Notification of the Provincial Governor of Champasak Province, No. 04/PG.CPS on 23 January 2021. Therefore, the decision will be continued to suspend the permitting of trucks from neighboring countries in transporting cassava into Lao PDR.
- Domestic trucks are allowed for the transportation of cassava at this moment. Thus, the Governor of Champassak Province will act as a focal point to be urgent implementation and cooperation with the southern provinces of Laos, the Transport Association and relevant sectors, in order to be prepared immediately for the number of trucks, transporting measures and appropriate service fees.
Therefore, we would like to inform you for your implementation accordingly.
