Instructions
The implementation of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport’s Notification No.04718/MOPWT, dated 23/02/2022 in increasing the strictness to monitor and inspect foreign trucks entering Lao PDR to comply with Lao laws and regulations.
- According to the Notification in monitoring and inspecting international cargo enter into Lao PDR by complying with laws and regulations, No. 04718/MPWT.CO, date 23 February 2022.
- According to the Minutes of the discussion on facilitating the transportation of goods in and out of the on 11 March 2022.
Department of Transportation, Ministry of Public Works and Transport issued Notification No.04718/MOPWT, dated 23/02/2022 in increasing the strictness to monitor and inspect foreign trucks entering Lao PDR to comply with the following laws and regulations:
- The Provincial and Capital Division of the Public Work and Transport to be cooperated and implemented together with the relevant sectors such as the International Border Crossing Board, the Provincial Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Customs, Peace Protection, Agriculture and Forestry, Industry and Commerce, Public Health, the Provincial Freight Transport Association, etc., to discuss the implementation of the notification to be unified and achieve effective outcomes.
- Government is to strictly implement the laws and regulations at each level, therefore, during this transitional period, the Provincial Department of Transport will be the center in consolidating the internal transportation of goods and setting reasonable transportation prices to be able to meet the needs of transportation at border crossings. In the case that within the province, the capital does not have enough cargo vehicles, it is necessary to coordinate with the International Freight Forwarders Association of Lao PDR (LITFA) to research and allocate cargo vehicles in a timely manner.
Therefore, this Instruction is issued as a basis for the implementation of the Notification No.04718/MOPWT, dated 23/02/2022 to achieve the best outcomes.
