The main export category
The total exports were approximately US$ 456 million. The main value exports included US$ 62 million in mixed gold, and gold bars, US$ 42 million in the paper, and paper products, US$ 32 million in copper ore, US$ 21 million in rubber, US$ 23 million in iron ore, US$ 16 million in banana, US$ 23 million in clothing, US$ 17 million in footwear, US$ 18 million in sugar, and US$ 13 million in glass and glassware.
The main import category
The total imports were approximately US$ 589 million. The main value imports included US$ 35 million in inland vehicles (other than motorcycles, and tractors), US$ 101 million in diesel, US$ 31 million in mechanical equipment (other than motor vehicles), US$ 29 million in steel and steel products, magnetic steel, US$ 12 million in pharmacy products, US$ 15 million in plastic products, US$ 20 million in power cables and cables, US$ 25 million in gasoline, and premium gasoline, US$ 13 million in food wastes and waste from the food industry, and US$ 14 million in chemical products.

The main exporting countries of Lao PDR included China US$ 154 million, Vietnam US$ 106 million, Thailand US$ 63 million, Australia US$ 43 million, and India US$ 13 million.
The five main importing countries of the Lao PDR
The main importing countries of Laos included: Thailand US$ 307 million, China US$ 141 million, Vietnam US$ 31 million, USA US$ 39 million, and Japan US$ 13 million.
