Throughout the inspection of a suspected truck number plate no 0248, our vets have found uncooked ducks 700 Kg and duck meat 160 kg totally weighing 860 kilos. These poultry parts have been found without documents showing place of origin and event relevant documents attached
Officials said they found the poultry parts wrapped and labeled in neighboring language, and then they took them to destroy according to the technical aspect in order to prevent the potential outbreak of deadly virus in the province and its neighbors.
Deputy Head of the Vientiane Provincial Fisheries and Livestock also adviced that at the present time Vientiane Province also set up the surveillance to prevent the spreading of the H7N9 bird flu virus and he also call to local people should be cautious when buying and consuming poultry. Avoid buying poultry if its place of origin is not identified.
