In order to facilitate business entrepreneurs with using documents accurately, and for simplicity of understanding and harmonization within the country, the Department of Customs, Ministry of Finance has issued instruction No. 00172/DoC, dated 16 October 2013 on the detailed use of the ASEAN Harmonized Customs Declaration to enable the use of the automated system and of the detailed customs declaration that relates to importation and exportation of all types of goods, in order to facilitate clearance and enable accurate production of statistics. This Instruction defines the symbol, the number of customs declaration for importation and exportation, the definition of 2 digit codes next to the heading code, the last 3 digits representing liquidation of taxes and other obligations for each condition, and also defines the method for a detailed Customs Declaration consisting of 7 numbers.
