At present, Lao PDR is using the Tariff Nomenclature 2022, which commodities are classified based on the ASEAN Harmonized Tariff Nomenclature (AHTN) and Harmonized Coding System (HS Code) of the World Customs Organization (WCO). In responding to the change in technology and new emerging products, it is necessary to update the Nomenclature every 5 years.
The Tariff Nomenclature in Lao PDR Trade Portal contains 10 digits that consist of import normal duty rates (Normal Tariff), Tariff preferential and in the framework of various trade agreements that Lao PDR is a party and are using Harmonized Tariff Nomenclature 2022 (AHTN 2022), namely: World Trade Organization (WTO) and ASEAN Trade In Goods Agreement (ATIGA). Excluding, the ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA), ASEAN-Korea Free Trade Agreement (AKFTA), ASEAN-India Free Trade Agreement (AIFTA), ASEAN-Australia & New Zealand (AANZFTA), Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (AJCEP), ASEAN-China-Korea Free Trade Agreement (AKFTA), and ASEAN-Hong Kong-China Free Trade Agreement (AHKFTA) are in the process of revision. In addition, we also provide export tariffs for some commodities specified in the President of Lao PDR's Decree on Fee and Service Charge, No.002/POL, dated 17 June 2021.
