This notification sets out the following details:

1. International Border Checkpoint at Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge I aim at improving for a more concise and prompt procedure of temporary import of containers and comply with Customs Law.
2. The temporary import (IM 7) of empty containers of each private company shall follow Article 27 in accordance with Customs Law No. 04/NA, dated 20 December 2011. The import companies shall present the documents to International Border Checkpoint at Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge I in order for the import to be considered and permitted and IM 7 will then be issued by Authority in charge of allowing the import. It is prohibited for Customs Officers at International Border Checkpoint at Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge I to require the import documents per consignment from importer which will cause difficulty and delay.

3. International Border Checkpoint at Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge I shall monitor the issuance of IM7 and use an IM7 book for arranging staffs, in case there is a large volume of the import of containers.
4. It is necessary to disseminate regulations and procedures for managing import and export. In case of non-compliance, punishment measure will be applied strictly in accordance with Customs Law.
5. In case of difficulty and delay, please inform Customs Department for resolving the issues.
