Bokeo Province has issued a temporary suspension notice in importing pork, sow and boar pigs, young pigs and all kinds of pork products from domestic and international (China and Vietnam) that transit through Luang Namtha and Thailand to Bokeo Province. Currently, the African Swine disease is an outbreak again in Luang Namtha Province and neighboring countries such as China, Vietnam, Thailand and Myanmar.
The relevant authorities should implement strict inspections to prevent the smuggling of pork, young pork and all kind of pork products which are imported from other provinces and neighboring countries. If there is a case as mention, the authorities have the right to charge and warn the importer and destroy the suspended objects immediately.
If an importer needs to import sow and boar pigs, pork, young pigs and all kind of pork products that must obtain a permit from the Department of Livestock and Fisheries, together with a certificate of export origin and certified Government Laboratory certify which is the negative result of FMD, ASF and PRRS.
