Ministry of Finance issues a notification to the international customs borders, customs inspection unit in Vientiane Capital and provinces nationwide for administering the export of finished wood and semi-finished wood, No.2572/CD, dated 7 January 2016. The notification aims to reduce customs procedures and comply with an additional ordinance of Ministry of Industry and Commerce in administering the export of finished and semi-finished wood No. 2156/MoIC. DIMEX, dated 19 October 2015.
This notification covers the export of finished product purchased from the exhibitions or local distributing shops. It stipulates that special royalties are exempted for all export of finished wooden products. As for the semi-finished products, logs, sawed timber, roots, stump roots, and branches are still required special royalties. As for customs procedures for export they are streamlined following strict regulations for instance, the export of semi-finished products customs authority will no longer issue documents or transferred note that will be assigned to the international customs checkpoint where these is an export to administer and inspect the exported wooden products in consistent with the Decision No. 2005/MoIC.DoIH, dated 28 September 2015. Customs border checkpoint in Vientiane Capital and provinces should strictly implement this notification.
