Ministry of Industry and Commerce issued an Instruction No. 1102/MoIC.DIMEX, dated 17 June 2016 on the Supplement of No.4 of the Instruction No. 1050/MoIC.DIMEX, dated 13 June 2016 on Enhancing Strictness on the Management and Inspection of Timber Exploitation, Timber Movement and Timber Business.
The Instruction notifies to Provincial and Vientiane Capital Department of Industry and Commerce to acknowledge that “finished wooden products for export does not required to have export permission” based on the Notification on the import and export of timber and wooden products No.1904/MoIC.DIMEX and Notification No. 2857/DIMEX, dated 11 November 2011 on the Revision of Notification No. 1904/DIMEX, dated 30 September 2011 No. 1.4 on the import and export of timber and wooden products. Therefore, point 4 of the Instruction No. 1050/MoIC.DIMEX dated 13 July 2016 which specifies that the Provincial and Vientiane Capital Department of Industry and Commerce shall cease the issue of export license for all type of wood including transit wood through Lao PDR in all cases covers any type of wood, except finished wooden products that was made nulled for issuing since the end of 2011.
The Instruction became effective on 17 June 2016.
